Fundamental's of Basic Electricity

1. Protons have positive charge(+ve)
2. Neutrons are neutral (they have no charge)
3. Electrons have negative charge(-ve)

• Nucleus always in positive charge
• Protons and neutrons are about 1839 times heavier than electrons 
• Under normal circumstances,protons and electrons are same in ATOM
• Therefore atoms are electrically neutral.

Electrons in the last orbit of atom it's called valence electron.the number of valence electron is a maximum of 8

Bound and Free Electron:-

The electron in the inner orbits are called bound electron.

If the last orbit is incomplete it is called an free electrons 

Inner Orbit=Bound Electron

Incomplete Last Orbit=Free Electron

Classification of materials :

1 -Conductor

2- Semi-conductor

3- Insulator

In the last orbit of ATOM

Number of valence electron-

1,2 and 3      = Conductor

Only 4          = Semi-conductor

More than 4 = Insulator
